Kernikov:
"Mr. Kern, you studied piano in Berlin and Cologne, and you are now rergularly having concerts in Germany and abroad. On the other hand you have been developing and realizing various unusual projects which all have in common a clear relationship to classic music.
How does this fit together?"

Pianist Andreas Kern:
"By the way, you should call me Andreas. To answer your question: Yes, I've got two souls in my body, actually, that's why I love Robert Schumann. The one wants to work continuously at the piano, and the other one often feels very lonely. So I am trying to balance the two by sometimes following up a sudden idea which comes to my mind during the daily work of practice and preparation of concerts. But in a way you are right: it is sometimes a painful split, not easy to cope with and possibly rewarded only by the later result. Nobody ever said that being an artist is easy."
